Why don’t our “scools” teach more about indentured servants.
Well, I taught my students about indentured servants. I also explained why they might well be treated worse than slaves by the holder of their indenture since once their time was up, they had no value to him. That said, most indentured servants willingly traded 3 to 7 years of their lives to get passage to America and the opportunities it offered.
