How radical can the Democrats get if they take over the government again? What used to be an extreme position - reparations to black people for slavery - is now entering the mainstream of Democratic party thought and could become a reality once the Democrats regain power.
Reparations have been mentioned since the end of slavery, but in recent years, it has been elevated to a serious issue by liberal Democrats. Rep. Maxine "Mad Max" Waters, appears to want to make it a cornerstone of a run for the presidency in 2020.
WATERS: “He’s a bully — he has a bully mentality. We need someone in the presidency who not only has good sense but understands diplomacy and understands what we need to do to have peace in this world so we can all look forward to the possibility that we’re someday going to have a world that’s about peace and justice and respect for individual liberty.”
RYE: “Is that your stump speech for 2020? — Is she running? Is she running?”

In order to get where we need to go on this issue and other issues, we really got to understand that 2018 is important in taking back the House and taking back the Senate ... I need to take back that House so that we can have a majority in that committee.”

Furthermore, it was a ‘tongue-in-cheek’ plan, since there is no one left alive who was held in slavery, or was the child of someone held in slavery, while slavery was the law of the land.
Since 28% of blacks in 1860 owned slaves but only 1.4% of whites did.
I guess the trillions we have shelled out to the lazy POC the last 50 years is not enough.

George Zimmerman will qualify—he is one-eighth black. Of course his black ancestors lived in Peru, not the US, but that should not matter.

There were 300,000 white slaves too. I guess that means we all gonna get a fat check from Uncle Sam huh Mad Max.
I suppose this ding-dong will include reparations for me because Muslims have taken over the Scandinavian countries of my heritage, wreaking havoc on society and costing residents tons of money in enforcement. The “old country” isn’t same as it was for my ancestors so I need lots of money in reparations.
Everybody’s going to identify as black to get that extra $3.50.
Wait a minute. They had 8 years with a halfircan president, and they did get reparations in the form of free phones, health insurance, and the Pigford settlement.
So Maxine wants more? There’s no satisfying these people.
