The lobbying side is where the real money is in DC, but I have to say the number of seemingly safe and powerful congress critters who are resigning or not running for reelection is staggering.
Draining the swamp or pure coincidence?
For others, this is probably when they can command the most money.
They sense that Congress will be different next year and they won't have as much influence.
That doesn't mean the Democrats will take over -- it could be a very pro-Trump Republican Congress where older Republican Reps don't feel comfortable -- but if Dems need 24 to take over and 30 Republicans aren't running, they do have a shot.
