Sorry to be late getting back. Posted the thread and rushed off to Church. It is Palm Sunday, a big day to us Catholics.
I’m always amazed at the fickleness of people. Jesus was welcomed by the citizens of Jerusalem like the King he was—yet the same people where shouting “Give us Barabas!” a week later.
As I knelt in prayer thinking this, I saw parallels into our modern age...
Here in Alabama, Republicanism is (was?) strong. We voted for Trump 3 to 1, with a million and a half votes for him vice 500,000 for Hillary.
A year later, only half a million of those same Republican voters came out and voted for Roy Moore. Doug Jones, pretend Good Ole Boy but really just another liberal democrat, won by a few thousand votes.
If this is what happens nationwide in November, maybe we deserve to be sacked by the Romans, too.
The way Doug Jones is running his mouth on Gun Control, pretty sure he is a one termer.
I think it’s early to proclaim our 2018 death at the polls. Lots of drama to come. Who knows if there are 1,800 indictments on tap we might hear about some of the more important ones and people may begin to think twice about who they want to vote for. Stranger things....
Yes, indeed, History does repeat itself. And do not forget the 80/20 principle. Or as the Chinese saying goes - May you live in interesting times.
