School teacher and then Governor of Georgia Zell Miller was a smart and humble man. One of the many things I liked about Gov. Miller was his interest in bettering the lives of children. A study showed a link between listening to classical music and enhanced brain development in infants. The Governor proposed a program to hand out classical music cassettes and CD’s to the parents of every infant born in Georgia.
Media elites in Georgia thought the $100,000. Price tag was too high for this program. Perhaps because the elites didn’t originate this idea they disliked it.
Sony Music Entertainment agreed to produce the music at no cost to taxpayers.
RIP Zell Miller.
Thank you for sharing that. He was a good and decent man. The last of the decent Dems and better than most Republican Senators of today.
I can’t think of a decent and good Democrat in congress.
