“Contemporary officers are way too jacked-up on power trips.”

And the bigger the city, the worse they are, but I guess you need to see “the streets” they walk from their eyes to be totally objective. I have found that police in small cities and towns, where the criminal element is less pervasive, to be a whole lot more interested in “to protect and to serve! I have a good friend who is Black and a former LAPD cop. He quit ten years ago and moved out of SoCal because both the cops and the criminals were problematic. He said the biggest problem he had was being told he had to violate citizens rights routinely, and that was especially true when dealing with minorities.

I agree that big cities are the pits and den of evil that creates bad cultural attitudes.

That said, cops need to be treated the same as any civilian who accidentally and recklessly shoots an unarmed person. At the very least if found guilty they need charged and sentenced with some sort of manslaughter charge requiring time to be served just as would be required from civilians. Under no circumstances should they get to walk away as it only creates bad attitude in all involved. Muting the mike must be forbidden and always retained as evidence. They concealed evidence.
