The 23-year-old man linked to the deadly bombings that rocked Austin, Texas, and surrounding areas over the past month had a "target list" of future locations he wanted to strike, the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security said Thursday.
Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said that authorities have discovered that Mark Anthony Conditt, 23, had a "target list of future targets" including residences and addresses discovered by authorities.
"I think he had pulled these addresses, these were his future targets. It was a target list." he said on "America's Newsroom."
McCaul added that based on the data authorities were able to retrieve from Conditt, they were able to go the homes and "clear them" from any suspicious packages.
"We were also able to use technology to find a digital footprint of where his cellphone had been, so that the key evidence was getting his cellphone number so that when he turned his cellphone immediately the SWAT teams descended on him at about 3 oclock in the morning so we got close to him before he blew himself up," he said.
McCaul told Fox News that authorities are now looking at those addresses that Conditt pulled to try to find a link between them.
"That is what we are looking at right now. What is the common denominator between all these victims, or is it just completely random?" he said.

BTW, properly speaking, "terrorism" doesn't just mean "actions that produces fear." It means "actions that target civilian values and noncombatants for the purpose of using fear/social instability/chaos to achieve a political purpose."
What Conditt did was terrifying, but it was not terrorism. It was not, as far as anyone knows, motivated by ideology or a desire for political leverage.
Unlike, say, jihad.
There is no evidence whatsoever that applying pain to these parents would influence other parents to do "something" to suppress insanity or criminality they don't even suspect in their seemingly normal adult children.
For this reason, your drive to apply the standards of war is misplaced. Likewise unjust and unconstitutional.
There’s no evidence Conditt shared some terrorist ideology (analogous to jihadism) with his parents.
Unsupported generalization.
Let us know if you ever aspire to political office, so we can vote against you.
He hadnt lived at home for years.
As far as knowing, psychopaths are generally above average intelligence-many are geniuses. They manipulate people instinctively and use the inherent trust of others without any remorse. Unless someone is proven to be collaborating, they are just another victim. That doesnt even address the fact that many warnings are disregarded by professionalssee the last school bomber.
I see your comment #54 was removed.
Good.
FR is still a place where the mods will uphold basic standards of sanity.
From what I have seen the ATF, FBI and local police have gutted Conditt’s house. The house is practically destroyed.
They have done their job.
