Lol, Shirely you jest. Besides we were a constitutional republic with a VERY LIMITED democratic process to elect our representatives, now we’re just a very large banana republic.

Elections still work well in our very fine democratic republic. Unless it's a conservative one that wins (Prop. 8; Prop. 187), then there will be a Democrat-appointed judge to say 'no.'
