Isn’t this known as a poison pill?
The Republicans act like they are pushing a big spending bill to appeal to their “taker” constituency, but add a “poison pill”, something they know will cause the bill to get vetoed. In this case, lack of funding for the border wall.
That way, come election time, when they run against tax/spend Democrats, they can brag to their “taker” constituents that they introduced and fought hard for this spending bill that would have “brought home the bacon”, but because it was vetoed, they can also brag to their “maker” constituency that they held spending levels down.
Democrats know exactly who they are: blatant tax/spend thieving socialists who steal tax money from the “makers” to purchase votes from the “takers”.
Republicans are conflicted: they know that socialist, globalist and redistributionist policies kill jobs and prosperity and are doomed to failure, yet there simply aren’t enough intelligent “maker” voters, so for political expediency they talk out of both sides of their mouths, play games and lie through their teeth to get elected.
Unfortunately, no. Trump has already been tweeting favorably and indicating that more wall funding will come later. He is going to sign it.
Bravo! I liked the way you think!
