The other side of the open primary is that in the districts that the California GOP has abandoned to the Democrats it lets Republicans influence the Democrat vote by voting for the conservative or moderate Democrat over the anointed leftist.

There is no such thing as a moderate or conservative Democrat. Any Dem who presents him/herself as such is lying to get your vote. Especially in CA, they are all literal neo-Marxists at best or flat out communists at worst. Also, the primary system in CA is not open, it is a jungle primary system. Two top vote getters in primary regardless of party face off in general election. Between allowing illegals to vote, gerrymandered districts and jungle primary, general elections frequently have zero Republicans on the ballot. It’s a rigged system in the truest sense of the term.
