There was a movie about a chairlift that I forget the name of. Anyway, the ski area was being closed down due to an incoming blizzard and the operators did not realize there were 3 teenagers still in a car halfway up the mountain. So they shut the works down and went home, leaving them stranded up there.
As the night went on, things went downhill fast. One of the teenagers jumped off the lift to go get help and broke both his legs, one of his legs had a bone sticking out of it. Then the wolves came and starting circling closer and closer to the crippled kid as the two teenagers still up in the lift screamed.
That movie still sends shivers up my spine.
Hawaii has almost 10,000 feet of elevation over the state of Georgia, FRiend.
I know, but as I later posted my point not everyone knows——so why slam public schools.

When I was younger i saw a child fall off a lift. The mom slowly lost ber grip as the workers scrambled with a net.
Cue the Benny Hill music.
'They' is me. I didn't know if there were any lifts in our Georgia so, just in case, I added the parenthetical.
Actually, it was built by Doppelmayr out of Austria. They should know what they're doing.
Never been on one. And, after your synopsis I don’t see a need to start now. :^/
