If he made a mistake, we forgive him and perhaps fire him.
If he intentionally broke the law, we treat him as a criminal.
We don't join the cop-haters in the destruction of our culture.
We don't hold them to the same standard they would hold us to?
“I think the men we hire to save us always get the benefit of the doubt”
Save us?
In addition to the Dunning-Kruger effect, whoever thinks like that has a Messiah complex.
And should not be wearing a badge.
Who the hell will “save us” from them?
Intentionally shooting an unarmed, non-threatening person to death is not a “mistake”.
It’s murder.
Giving cops a free pass to shoot dead anyone they don’t like is a far greater threat to our culture.
Do you actually think the police are hire[d] to save us? If you do, then I urge you to rethink your position. The courts in this country have consistently ruled that the police have neither a responsibility nor an obligation to save us from anyone or anything.
On another board I frequent, populated by many cops, with many of them veterans, this guys actionns were roundly criticized. When it goes past a purely admistrative screw-up, ithink cops should face the same penalties any other citizen would
