Same with the Lester Holt interview, where Trump expressly said he wanted SC Mueller to continue, and he thought firing Comey would (sadly) slow that down. The press reports that Trump, in that interview, said he wanted the investigation to stop.
The press out and out lies, and the more repetition, the more the lie becomes foundational.

The press has conflated Mueller with all things Russia for so long. If Trump wants a declaration of clean bill, the press says Trump is in favor of foreigners meddling in the election.
Rank intellectual dishonesty, it's all the press has going for it.
The press is also flogging election polling 2018. DEMS are going to win big!
That may very well be true, however Mueller is clearly NOT a good choice for this part. He will hardly investigate his own involvement as FBI head in the Uranium One sale scandal, nor has he shown any willingness to investigate his friend Comey's illegalities (or any of the other FBI and Clinton crimes, for that matter). Yet he's obsessively hunting a myriad of other witches for things that happened long before the 2016 presidential race.
He is clearly taking advantage of the media meme that "only banana republics criminalize members of previous administrations". That's a false narrative when the previous administrations committed treason. He should be fired.
