More accurately they were all moves to require the trading of all commodities in the UN Globalist Western European Banking System and the IMF.
Qaddafi was specifically targeted because of his vast gold holdings and his complete independence from the IMF. He planned to be the Islamic alternative banker for the Mid East/North Africa.
Iraq/Libya/Syria were Russia's USD money laundering operations for Russian oil deals that were cutting in to OPEC's dominance and threatening the USD as World Reserve currency.
Question is a bit over complicated, but basically no. Russia did not need to steal oil or black market it, or avoid Western Banking, they sold oil through a vast network of pipelines discounted through Ukraine, to Eastern and Western Europe.
The theft and black market consisted of Arab and Muslim Terrorist groups.
Russia has become the worlds largest broker of oil in NON-USD and that is what these wars are all about....NO?

What changed was this: Ukraine was not paying for a lot of the oil it got at a discount, and it occurred to the Soros Globalists that a Western "Democratic Color Revolution" would deliver that freebie oil to them to profit on, as well as all the minerals, land and manufacturing Ukraine to them, completely cut Russia off from mid and Southern Europe, plus deliver the Sevastopol Naval base to NATO.
So they engineered the Ukraine coup.
Now your question makes sense, and Yes, Russia foiled the plot, and began engineering ways of working outside the Western Banking and Ukrainian delivery systems.
Eventually this (and BRICKs) will severely damage the USD as World Reserve and petro exchange currency.
Most countries do not want to go against the OPEC cartel "rules" of trading only in USD because it usually ends in a visit from a US aircraft carrier group or a surgical drone strike.
