I take solace in the fact that a great author has already depicted Mueller in a novel. The name Victor Hugo gave the character was Inspector Javert. Javert is one of the most hated characters in all of literature because his dogged persuit of justice was both unjust and immoral. Perhaps Mueller will one day realize that his life has been a lie and, like Javert, end it the only way it can be ended.
I can't remember how Javert's life ended. But do Fantine (?) and Adele, Hugo's daughter. I know it ended in the French Revolution with Cosette (?) marrying the revolutionary. Initially the union was disapproved.
