I was under the impression that once a Cabinet member had been confirmed for a position, he didn’t need to be confirmed again if being transferred to another Cabinet position.
I guess I was wrong, if they’re discussing a hearing and confirmation for Pompeo.
I think Pompeo can serve for a year, without confirmation, to be able to go right in to the position. Will need new confirmation after a year. IIUC.
