When the clock strikes 10 a.m. Wednesday, students around the world, throughout the nation and across California will rise from their desks in the cause of political activism to join the National School Walkout to protest gun violence.

Why didn’t they do this after Sandy Hook? Oh, I forgot, Obama was president.
The problem with the USA and particularly states like California is that they believe we live in a democracy, when in fact, we do not. The Founding Fathers of this republic new better.
Of course, when the Democrats lose on something like homosexual marriage, they use the courts in an undemocratic manner to dismiss what a democratic vote decides.
“Or just given up on education and gone completely to indoctrination.”
Sad but true
“The Left wants society to be run by children.”
A “Lord of the Flies” scenario.
Then this is the left forcing our kids to engage in THEIR political agenda. That is against the law.
Yep, they are creating a state religion in public schools, Leftism.
For the 1000th time, we don’t live in a democracy, we live in a constitutional republic. Big difference. The Founders were loathe to democracy. Spread the word Freepers.
Huh? We know. ...not sure what prompted that comment (?)
The Left adheres to principles of Bolshevism, which operated on “democratic centralism”: a democratic majority vote ruled, but that which was voted on was determined by a central party (ensuring any outcome would be acceptable to the practically ruling oligarchy) - to wit, tyranny of the majority pre-determined by a dictatorship. Hence the Left’s loud demands for “democracy”, yet propensity to ignore undesired outcomes by selective abuse of the judicial system.
So the Founding Fathers built a government devoted to individual freedom/liberty, allowing for democratic voting locally but filtering it thru representatives and a strictly limiting Constitution. And so the Left is seeking every conceivable way to subvert the existing system, to twist it into democratic centralism - popular votes on pre-chosen faux alternatives.
Ah yes - gun violence. When guns have little feet and run around shooting people.
The ADA count is usually submitted at 9 am
That is true in our elementary schools, but in our MS and HS, every minute is accounted for all day long. I cant take my kids out of school unless the excuse I use is on the approved list. That list is short and the attendance Nazis are all over me if I dont adhere to the rules. As a parent, it is quite maddening and I would be shocked if any campus in our district allowed students to exit the school for such a demonstration.
The vast majority of those kids are minors, still under their parents supervision, and need to be suspended if they leave their seats to join a political walkout. If the parents want them to participate, I guess they can show up and claim their child is ill and needs to leave the school, but theyll need to keep them home the rest of the day.
It looks to me like a paradox. Once the kids leave the security of the schools and enter the public space, they are targets of opportunity for a crazed individual that will take advantage of the situation. The walkout just creates a ripe target of opportunity for the sickos out there.
The Sacramento Bee is missing the point of what its like to be a KID.
Proves that the leftist idiots never change. The Vietnam protesters were idiots to the extreme. These kids are not different. No doubt, they will feel good about themselves.
It will be all about those evil guns.
I am tempted to show up and if/when I am asked about how I feel, I'll tell them that the kid should get the electric chair. Lethal injection is too good for him. That’d shock them.
And then I'd rant about how the local police screwed up and the police chief should be fired.
I guarantee that you will not hear any of this on the nightly news.
Precisely.
