Sounds like a ex post facto law. Not that such a detail would deter the Illinois legislature or law enforcement... Right. Let's see what SCOTUS has to say when it inevitably arrives.

That's true, but more legislation will fix that problem, too. See my last comment just before this one. And on the 18-20 controversy, some states keep it legal for residents to transfer firearms between them, and everyone is getting insured. The effect has been amazing, with a more nice, peaceful and even more charitable social environment.
