I was wondering about the ground pressure. It appears that an Abrams has about half the ground pressure of a passenger car, and about 1/6 the ground pressure of a racing bike.
Its the neutral steering that’s the problem...one false move and the pavement is screwed up.
As someone who has built a “tank road”for tactical vehicle maintenance and access to program areas for tracked equipment, the issue is flexible paving (asphaltic concrete) will tear up from the turning action and every slight maneuver.
The two and half miles that I built for this purpose was solid concrete placed in thicknesses to take the weight.
