An 18-year-old in Florida can still buy a handgun. They can still have someone else give them a rifle, I think?
Nope. All guns. Handguns were already 21, which in itself is a tragedy. Also a perfect example of the slippery slope in action.
No, handgun purchases are already restricted to age 21 and over, nationwide. I think that was part of the Brady Act.
No. Fed law restricts handgun purchases to 21 yo and older. This mistake make it illegal in Florida (only) to buy a long gun unless you’re 21. It also forces a 3 day waiting period for ALL firearms purchases (unless you have a CWP, are active military, and maybe a couple of other exemptions). Allows select school personnel with CWP to carry on campus. And you have to be very careful about buying any firearm for anyone not 21. I’m sure the pricks will find some way to invoke the straw purchase clause even if its for your son or daughter.
This has to be taken to the USSC. I personally think it may be unconstitutional to restrict sales to anyone not 21.
At any rate, most people north of the I-4 corridor will never support Scott for anything again. Everyone south of the I-4 corridor are already lost to common sense. (See Broward County, et al.)
After October you must be 21 yoa for all firearms sales from retail dealers (FFL).
Anyone less than 21 cannot purchase any firearm under this law from a licensed dealer with the exception of CCW holder, Military, Law Enforcement, and Corrections. Nothing Im aware of prevents purchase by private sale less than 21, nor gifting from someone else.
How many years will two gun related felonies getcha in Florida nowadays?
In Florida you can’t buy a handgun under 21.
