President Trump issued the second pardon of his presidency Friday to former Navy sailor Kristian Saucier, who learned the news while driving a garbage truck, the only job he could find with a felony conviction.
Saucier was sentenced to a year in prison during the 2016 campaign for taking pictures inside a nuclear submarine. Trump invoked his case repeatedly on the campaign trail, saying he was ruined for doing nothing compared to Hillary Clinton.
Still, Trump allowed Saucier to serve his full prison sentence. He was released in September and returned to the Vermont home he shares with his wife Sadie and their two-year-old daughter.

He's now driving a garbage truck 60 hrs/week to make ends meet.
Does the pardon give him his career back? It should. Reinstate him, with back pay and seniority. I’m not saying what he did wasn’t wrong, but the circumstances sure screamed out for NJP, not courts martial.
Trump did the right thing
and driving a garbage truck is honorable productive work. being a tax feeder isnt
I love this president.
With the felony conviction wiped, he should get upgraded to a general discharge at least and that will allow him to find another job.
In Vermont that’s probably a pretty good job as there aren’t many jobs there. And it’s steady work — everyone produces garbage!

And a huge defeat for the military. Now personnel is free to disperse classified information anywhere.
Basically classified military information is a thing of the past. China must be celebrating.
Reinstate him for disobeying order and weakening national security?
So what is that telling our service people that they don’t have to obey commands? Our military services will be complete anarchy.
I’d hire him on the spot!
He didn’t weaken national security and disobeying and order for this situation is NJP. Seriously, dishonorable discharge? Prison? No way. With his pardon, this should all be undone, reinstate him with back pay and seniority. If they are concerned about national security, fine, address that with his security clearance. There are plenty of other machinist slots in the Navy he’d be fine in. Put him back in uniform. Make fully right the injustice he suffered.
What exactly did he do to weaken national security?
It’s as retarded as claiming someone weakens national security for disclosing we have photographic satellites, a classified Top Secret stupidity if there ever was one.
Did you serve in the military? In the Navy? In the nuclear program? As enlisted? Suspect not. I was enlisted Navy, nuke program and electronics tech. I’m sorry, but this guy was persecuted, not prosecuted. This was NJP. He’s suffered enough. The Navy can use his training and skills, put him back to work. Besides, I bet he learned his lesson.
Do you really want the country's enemies to have a free pass at all our military secrets? \
Why should we pardon a traitor?
I would too. Even with ankle bracelet and all, I’m really surprised he didn’t have more offers. He’s a trained and skilled machinist.
We don't even know if he was a spy or not, selling secrets to China, Russia, North Korea.
Unfortunately on one of those threads a FReeper complained that he should only have had his sentence commuted..........
I have a question: If this guy was black or Middle Eastern would you still be so sure that his refusal to comply with legitimate orders was innocent?
