Ah yes, that old tired canard. Total BS. The left always argued it was a canard, while conservative economists argued it wasn't. We have now reach the point in the U.S. where Marxism reins unchallenged.
Obviously Smoot Hawley did nothing to end the Great Depression.

The left always argued it was a canard, while conservative economists argued it wasn't. We're at the point now where facts don't matter. People will twist and spin facts and outright lie depending on what side of the issue they are on. Those that want tariffs will claim it was a canard and opponents of tariffs will claim it was involved in extending the Great Depression. I just come here for the articles anyway. :-)

Tariffs aren't Marxism—they existed long before that abomination. They also happen to be Constitutional from the very beginning of our Constitutional government, and they don't invade privacy and turn people into slaves like Marxist income taxes do...
