And standard issue is TWO eyeballs per lookout, or at least it used to be in the “OLDE NAVY”.
So very true. As a former QM Naviagator in the USCG I have seen my share of bad OOD officers and have had to question their decision more than once. I even called the captains cabin a few times to have him “wonder” up to the bridge. Visual navigation is being lost to electronic charts, no one walks to the bridge wing anymore and looks around. This action is inexcusable.
