On Sunday night, in a restroom at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, I was washing my hands when someone in a crimson ballgown swept past me toward the stalls. There was something about this person's energy that was different than that of other women who were milling around, redoing their lipstick, chatting about the Oscars show. I felt I knew this person in the crimson gown. Or had seen them somewhere before. So I left the bathroom and waited outside, in the lobby. And when this person left the ladies room, I stopped them to chat.

How many people did it stop to chat? Shades of "My name is 'Legion', for we are many!"

Steaming — Makes me wonder if the queer went into the ladies room just to stink up the place. Brings up an entirely new form of hostility towards women as we all know their $h!t dont stink. Every female in there should have known something was wrong!
Teeming — This is what I meant but now my thought have been derailed ......

Lately I have been hearing that used by many people and I dont think it has anything to do with gender (at least I believe on the normal people speaking). Its just poor grammar which is an epidemic. My impression has always been that this usage of "they" is an early attempt at having a "gender-neutral" singular pronoun that isn't "it."

The only thing I enjoyed about this article was the photo of Rita Moreno. She looks absolutely fantastic at age 86.

I find it interesting that the writer refers to the different energy of the male in the women’s bathroom. Evidently, this writer recognizes the different energy of men and women PERIOD.
