Just have the honesty to admit that the Bible story of what happened is what you are denying, rather than just assert loudly that it does not mean what it actually says.

I’m not denying it; I’m saying I wasn’t around 7000 years ago to observe “Nothing here, I guess I’ll have to wait a while ‘til God creates the Universe”.

The “Big Bang” theory is generally consistent in form with the Biblical description of the Creation, and there’s plenty of physical evidence to support a theory that the Universe has been around far longer than 5700 years.
