George P Bush is the young, half-Hispanic, grandson of the 41st president, nephew of the 43rd and son of a former Florida governor.
When he was elected Texas land commissioner four years ago, that background gave him a significant advantage as a fledgling Republican candidate seemingly on a fast track to stardom.
Now, with conservative politics turned on its head by Trumpism, Bush is facing a tough primary election that threatens to doom his political career and with it, bring to a close his familys 70-year political dynasty.
Its quite possible that the Bush political dynasty, at least for this generation, could end in the spring of 2018 because if George P Bush fails to win the GOP nomination for land commissioner its tough to see him coming back from that any time soon, said Mark Jones, a political scientist at Rice University.

good.
Happy to hear it.
Jeb! signaled the end.
“Oklahoma!, Oklahoma!, Oklahoma!”
Oh my, and I thought that the GOPe would want to trot him out against a Dem race/gender baiter like Kamala.
So happy to see the end of the kennedies, bushes, and clintons in my lifetime.
Get Jeb to run for dog catcher.
Problem solved.
No more Bushes, no more Clintons, no more Kennedys, and no more Obamas.
In other words, no more dynasties.
Adios, mofo!
It is a no brainer whenever I see a Bush on any type of list to choose from.
This family trolled the American people for centuries.
Bunch of stuck up angilcan saxon scumbags
Is this something Mr. Tippy-Toes said somewhere? Context, please?
Gracias amigo.
Please Clap!
G P Bush seems a bit more conservative than his ancestors but when he announces plans to rewrite the story of the Alamo and also re-organize the Alamo and the surrounding area, he lost much support. See this:
Unfortunately his challenger Patterson is not much better.
The irony is that after 9/11, W could have been one of the greatest Presidents of our time if he responded the way any red-blooded American would have, and things would have been mighty different for the Bush clan today.
The REAL message here is listening to the GOPe and allowing them to call the shots is fatal.
The scum Republican Establishment and their cronies are a significant part of the swamp.
No more Bushes nor their partners: the Clintons!
LMFAO. Bush is “half-Hispanic” . Wonder if they’ve ever used the term “half-black” for Obama.
“no more dynasties”
Also, no Ivankas
But Don Jr.’s another story. I like that guy
I was so close to saying the exact same thing!
First, that isn't accurate. Second, none of the Bushes are conservatives, so what difference would it make, anyway.
