WaPo: Former Deputy FBI Director About To Be Torched For Misleading Inspector General(trunc)

Remember Andrew McCabe, the former Deputy Director of the FBI who was forced out last January? Well, there’s a DOJ report that’s about to be released that details how the top FBI official misled investigators and signed off on an 'improper media disclosure' that detailed the warring state of affairs between the bureau and the Department of Justice concerning the investigation into the Clinton Foundation (via WaPo):

The Justice Department inspector general is preparing a damaging report on former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, alleging he was responsible for approving an improper media disclosure, two people familiar with the matter said. One of the people said McCabe will also be accused of misleading investigators about his actions.

The report is a part of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s broad review of the FBI and Justice Department’s handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

During that work, inspector general’s investigators found that McCabe had authorized the disclosure of information to the Wall Street Journal for an October 2016 story that examined feuding inside the FBI and Justice Department around the handling of a separate investigation into Clinton’s family foundation, two people familiar with the case said.

Those probing the matter believe that McCabe, who stepped down in January, misled them when they initially inquired about the subject, though one person familiar with the forthcoming report said McCabe disputes that he intentionally misled investigators.

It is unclear how McCabe is said to have misled investigators.

In every article it must be made clear that McCabe was deeply involved in his wife’s political campaign which received huge sums of money from the Clintons and other Democratic donors, he did the phoney investigation on Hilary, Weiner and other like cases, and worked tirelessly for the Clintons. I read that the other Agents did not like him as he by-passed all the everyday case work all agents do and was quickly moved up to top jobs. I know a couple of retired agents who blame McCabe and Comey for all the bad press the FBI is receiving.

I believe that it was the choice of the corrupt Special Prosecutor. Scooter Libby was dealt a dirty deal and should have been pardoned by Bush2.

IMHO

Nothing will happen.

Pessimism is an emotional safe space, but hopefully you'll be able to crawl out of it before this is over. Keep your chin up. Time will tell.

The DOJ IG doesn't have prosecutorial powers. But The DOJ itself does.

Let's hope Sessions takes this as a cue (maybe "clue" is a better word in this case) to indict McCabe and get the process of cleaning house started.

Somebody needs to be the first one to go to prison.

McCabe sounds like a good choice to lead the pack.
