Actually, we can invest ZAR 10 million overseas per annum. There is also the discretionary allowance of ZAR 1 million per annum for travel, gifts, etc.
Just one big problem. Only the rich have that sort of money. Most of us aren’t rich. Add to that, the ZAR doesn’t travel well, and then there is purchasing power parity. For instance, in the US we would only be able to buy about half of what we can in SA for the same amount of money.

Years ago I worked with a mining engineer who had come from SA to Colorado. He was a good man and top notch.
With the Rand's plummeting, it is becoming almost worthless, vis-a-vis other currencies.
