The “Kevlar on his back” means Jared needs to protect himself from “backstabbers.”
Seth Rich was shot in the back.
Podesta said the DNC leaker needed to be “made an example of”.
Rich was murdered shortly afterwards.
Podesta knows his own reputation and spoke accordingly. It’s a threat.
If a random person says that, that’s a reasonable interpretation.
When someone who is essentially a mafia consigliere says that, it is properly and correctly interpreted as a direct threat of violence.
You really think Podesta cares enough about Jared to warn him of anything. Maybe breed conflict but warn... I don’t think.
