Can you be forced to give up money to someone else, wholl then use your cash to push a political agenda with which you disagree?
It is technically a First Amendment issue in the case of Janus v. American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees that is being decided by the Supreme Court.
And it may just be the most important political story in America, about Democratic Party bosses in blue states who for decades have used public employee unions to maintain their power.

Public employee unions are an adjunct of the Democratic Party.
Ending their coerced membership dues would seriously cripple Democratic political power.
That’s why they fear a SCOTUS decision ending the practice.
This has the potential to change the balance of power, removing rich unions from supporting candidates.
Ending public union coercion in WI turned it from a Purple into a Red state.
Tear them all down, then salt the Earth so they may never rise again.
Membership and purchase of representation services or anything else should be voluntary transactions in the free market. Not forced, compelled, nor coerced. ( and several of the largest unions are corrupt as sin, too)
There should be no such thing as a public employee union.
That’s all they talk about here in Hollywood aside from Black Panther. I’m a member of at least 3 unions and one of them, the WGA is one of the worst. This should annihilate the union dues and I heard they’re coming up with another “dues” nonsense that will replace the membership dues in more legal terms.
People are acting like it’s a slam dunk that the SCOTUS is going to rule against the Public Service Union.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
This crappola is not even mentioned in the United States Constitution, so the ruling should be 9-0 against the Union Thugs.
Spot on!!
Picking your pocket
“Public employee unions are an adjunct of the Democratic Party.”
In CA and CO, the Democrat party is an adjunct of the Public Employee Unions.
We shall see.
SEIU in OREGON is VERY BIG!!! This could be FANTASTIC....IF...The Supreme’s follow the Constitution and BOR!
If I were he, I would opt not to be a part of their union
“collective bargaining” benefits and suggest that I will negotiate my own performance.
Not everyone does the same work, nor with the same efficiency, nor with the same results, etc. Therefore, as I have always done, negotiate my own raises and benefits.
There is no such thing as equal performance, so there should not be one salary.
“Collective Bargaining” YECH and Spit
Go back to it being illegal for government employees to unionize, period.
If they go on strike there are a Hell of a lot of people displaced by jobs moving overseas and H1B Visa workers here who would love to have regular employment so fire those on strike and replace them. If the government grinds to a halt for a while during the transition, so be it.
Unions made sense when they were fighting for safer work places, pay in US currency rather than company script, compensation for on the job accidents, and so on. Now, they're just subsidiaries of the deep state machine.
Just like the US government, once the criminal globalist scum take over they have to be all thrown out. Union members don't have a track record of throwing out the political criminal hacks that run them. We're in the process of seeing whether US citizens are any better at throwing out criminal political hacks running the government than the unions have been at getting rid of the scum running unions.

Sooo will the dems blackmail Roberts or another judge again?
When it came to obammy care they blackmailed Roberts for his illegal adoption of a couple kids.
Public Union negotiations are when Group A (Unions) is negotiating with Group B (Government) as to how hard and deep they are both going to screw Group C (Taxpayers)!
If I don’t like the union ran auto shop, I can go to a different auto shop for my repairs. As a taxpaying citizen, if I don’t like the way the DMV or any other Public Union is operating or is compensated, I can’t just go to a different DMV to get my vehicle licensed!
I’m sorry, but no government group/entity should be allowed to sign a binding contract with a union, to which the next one, two, four election cycle members are legally bound! And most importantly, these elected officials are signing a contract that THEY are NOT paying, it is a contract paid for by taxpayer expense!!
I think if a Government agency is going to sign a Public Union contract, then the TAXPAYERS should have a say in debate - it’s my money and I can’t just “vote” with my wallet, like I could at some auto shop on the corner!
