(CNSNews.com) Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) told NBCs Meet the Press on Sunday that the majority of mass public shootings take place in gun-free zones like schools. To this end, he has proposed legislation repealing the Gun-Free School Zone Act on 1990, which makes it illegal for someone to bring a gun on school grounds.
Massie said the solution to school shootings is putting more than one armed guard at school or allowing teachers to be armed, adding that 98 percent of mass public shootings happen in a gun free zone.
And weve labeled all of our schools as gun free zones. We need to take those labels off, and put our kids in that two percent category of being safe, instead of being in that 98 percent vulnerable category, he said.

Yes! Its about time someone on cap hill proposed something sensible!!! ( which means it wont happen, I guess)
‘Bout time is right.
How will they take away our guns without victim zones?
Now I know why I love the old Western movies, everybody carried a gun, right in the open. When the SHTF, damn few ever just got wounded. Mess with the good guy and you wound up dead.
I posted the same comment on another thread, but it is appropriate here as well:
They call it a gun free zone; however, it is a 2nd Amendment Right denial zone. For example, suppose I want to pick up my kids at school and I forget to remove my CCW. That would make me guilty of a felony. Thus, the law that created these zones puts law-abiding citizens at risk of becoming convicted felons while not really dissuading someone intent on murder and mayhem. I understand that there are some cases and locations where 2nd Amendment rights have to be curtailed. For example, if I had a child or other person I wanted to visit who was in jail, I would have to leave my weapon in my vehicle, pass thru a metal detector, and otherwise conform to prison rules for that visit. But, there are several important differences in these situations and similar ones and visiting a school. For example, prisoners are presumed to be dangerous whereas schoolchildren are not. Therefore, that law is onerous, capricious and highly inappropriate, to say nothing of being unconstitutional! There has to be a compelling reason for the government to suspend, deny, or curtail our 2nd Amendment rights. School massacres are strong evidence that this law is inappropriate and highly detrimental, besides being unconstitutional. The bottom line is, blame Joe Biden and his awful compatriots who got this law passed on the first place, then repeal it!l:
That says it ALL!
