Is that the criteria for interpreting the Bible? Your personal experience?

The BIBLE says that homosexuals have been and can be saved from their sins:

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Paul wrote to those who were formerly (before coming to Christ) “fornicators,” “effeminate,” and “abusers of themselves with mankind.” These very same had been “washed,” “sanctified,” and “justified.”

Do you think the Gospel is only for people who have committed “smaller” sins than these?

Let me give you a real world example since you are attempting to relate to your personal experience. Homosexuals are now promoting their agenda using children:

In this article you will find that Chad Felix Greene, who is identified as a “gay writer/blogger,” is opposed to and speaking out against this abuse and exploitation of children. Is Greene a follower of Christ. No. Far from it. But there is some vestige of morality in his heart, something God placed there, warning him and causing him to warn others that this is going too far.

Sometimes God uses such awareness to bring people to repentance. But there are also those who KNOW, according to Romans 1, just how evil their own deeds are, and yet they delight in them. Such a person is a reprobate.

There are atrocities that people do that are simply indescribable. They are inhuman. They can not even be done by a human being who has not become deranged by demonic control or extreme delusion (i.e. they do not know what they are doing) due to drugs or some other cause.

It is important to understand that not all homosexuals do such atrocities. In fact, most do not. Does that make them “good?” Of course not.

Not being a violent criminal does not make me a good person. And we learn from the Bible that no one is good innately.

There is a false pride in thinking that our own sins are not as bad as other people. Just because I have never murdered, or committed fornication, or some other particular sin, does not mean I am qualified to enter Heaven. As I pointed out, the “they,” “you,” and “us” of Romans are no different from each other with regards to needing forgiveness from sins.

“... EVEN THE SOULS THAT COMMIT THEM
SHALL BE CUT OFF FROM AMONG THEIR PEOPLE.
Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance,
that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs,
which were committed before you,
and that ye defile not yourselves therein:
I am the Lord your God.”

There were sins in the Old Testament for which there was no remedy, but for which the possibility of forgiveness exists today because of the cross and this age of superabounding grace. For example, in the Old Testament an adulteress was to be stoned to death. But Christ pardoned the woman caught in adultery. In the Old Testament those with a familiar spirit were executed. But Christ cast out the demons.

It is good to warn people of the dangers and evils of homosexuality. But it is important as a follower of Christ to use such warnings to drive people to seek the message of salvation and forgiveness in Christ.

All people, homosexual or not, who are living in rebellion to God’s laws, need to be warned of His wrath. But the message of the Law of God can not save apart from bringing a person to realize his or her need for salvation. If a person’s Gospel does not work for homosexuals then it is a watered down Gospel that might also be corrupted by the pride of self-effort and self-righteousness. The Gospel the apostles preached was different from this. It was the “power of God for salvation to EVERYONE who believes.”
