If we let the whole argument revolve around Haab's claims, we weaken our own position, we don't strengthen it. CNN wants to make the argument about Haab, and we shouldn't play into their hands. My point is that - if Haab wasn't even a part of the story - it is still obvious that the whole forum was set up as a mouthpiece for anti-gun forces, not as a fair debate.

Let’s concede nothing.

That's absolutely right. Never concede a damn thing. Anything "our side" gives up becomes the baseline for the next assault. Whether language, or liberty or the money in your pocket.
The very nature of conservatism works against us at all times. Conservatives don't fight to roll-back the encroachments already in place the way that leftists fight for their ceaseless "progress" into hell and madness.

The worst enemies of true liberty often land on the conservative end of the spectrum...
You'll find them here, preaching against ideological purity in our candidate selection. Claiming a real conservative is unelectable. Just settle for 70%, they say. So the left takes 30% this cycle and waits for our next compromise to take the rest.

We have to challenge every lie, hold every line, and die on every hill.
