If I had to guess, the Clintons and Obama raided the DNCs coffers and split their leadership to the point that they were ineffective. Obama had the DOJ in his pocket, but they didn’t have complete control of the electoral process.
A WAG theory is that the election was rigged for Trump to win, but Obama’s DOJ was supposed to do what it’s trying to do now but can’t close the deal: get Trumped impeached and tossed out for “collusion” and for the contents of the Steele dossier. If that had happened, Republicans as a brand and the representative-republic as our form government would be gone forever.
