What is to stop, say, Allstate from denying auto insurance to someone with a concealed carry permit?

The fact that people with concealed carry permits are better insurance risks and therefore more profitable? Unlike gun insurance, auto insurance is a high revenue, but dog-eat-dog business. I can’t see any CEO taking that step and risking his cushy spot when the inevitable margin erosion causes payout ratios to spike and earnings to fall.

Let's hope.

My point is that business are making decisions for political, not profit, reasons. They are denying coverage of a constitutionally protected right.

It would be like an insurance company denying property coverage for the printing facilities of a conservative magazine or newspaper.
