First, I am NOT defending Peterson, he is human and one never knows how a person would/would not react in such a circumstance. Someone might have several years of military training but when under enemy fire may fail to even fire their weapon. It happens, believe it or not.

I agree with you regards personal behavior. Its actually a pretty rare individual who runs to the sound of gunfire.

I was on Campus at Texas when Whitman shot up the place. lots stood around until one lone police officer stormed the tower and shot him.

Lots of "security guards" just want the paycheck and would not risk their life. That being said, if schools had armed security like say the local bank, then that's a great deterrence but not a cure.
