Plenty of witnesses reported immediately that that crossing was notorious for false train alarms. The gates would go down, bells ringing, lights flashing, and....no train. The locals said people often drove around the stupid false alarms.

This time it was real.

30yo trash truck drivers are not famous for brilliance nor impulse control. The trash guys are often convicted felons, a collection of guys also not known for impulse control. Hopefully was given drug tests. I’m glad the waste guys hire them—hey but for the grace...but this wasn’t some deliberate plot.

Q-laid drinkers need fo step back from Corsi and Alex Jones. They are nuts.

Speaking of idiot drivers, the 11foot8 bridge got two of them the other day.

That’s exactly what happened, imo.

The gates were often down for no reason, so people began to just ignore them and drive around the gates.

This driver was unlucky. This time the warning was real.

I blame this on the owner of the crossing, which is probably not Amtrak.

Just talking out my hat, here, but I’m assuming the majority of felons are from drug crimes. Really not the best choice for someone to have access to my trash, what with boxes from electronics, etc., and used medication packages, etc., in my trash. Oh, well. It’s not like the job usually attracts the cream of the crop, though it did around here, for a long time. For years, our little town had the same old guy picking up our trash. If his wife, who was ill, had a medical appointment, he’d get out and start his day at 3 a.m., so he’d be sure to get his work done that day. Salt of the earth. Finally the town contracted with a major company. Automated, of course. A robot in a self driving truck could do the job. Progress. I guess. If Heaven were a twilight zone episode, I’d pick “Willoughby”.
