Linda Belcher (D) wins her KY legislative seat back w/ almost 70%. In 2016, she lost with 49.6%, while Trump won #HD49 with 72% & Rand Paul won it with 64%.
I’m not so sure about the loses but wouldn’t rule it out. I think it’s more probable that we gain a few Senate seats while our House margin shrinks.
Realistically, continue stocking the judiciary with strict constructionists is the number one goal for the rest of Trump’s first term, as you mentioned. Hopefully, Satan calls Ginsburg home sooner rather than later.
In this case, yes, I would believe it - take away straight ticket voting and it probably would have been near the same last time - look up who she was running against both times and you will see why.
Still, Dems can use this as propaganda nationwide to bolster excitement, even though they are just getting back a seat they held less than 2 years ago and just lost it by fraction of a percent due solely to straight ticket voting and not due to people looking down at the ballot.

I guess everyone realizes this race was for a seat in the Kentucky state legislature, not the US Congress.

The incumbent (who rode into office on the Trump train) isn’t running, he’s DEAD. Suicide. (A well deserved suicide).
The dead guy’s wife ran instead. The former office holder, who barely lost, to the dead guy (when he was alive), easily reclaimed her LOCAL *State* House seat.

FAKE (deceptive) NEWS. This story, while true, is designed to be deceptive to make it LOOK LIKE the Republicans lost a U.S. House seat, which they DIDN’T.
FYI, in looking up how well we did in our state legislative races, I noticed in this particular race, this candidate lost 60% - 40% to a Republican candidate to flip it back to the GOP.
And while looking through to see how well we did in our state legislative races (it appears very well - retaining a super majority in both chambers - despite claims there would be a blue wave of people up in arms over pension reform), this Dem lost by 20 points and the seat flipped back to the GOP.
