I’m not arguing with you about things you made up. Nothing in this conversation has anything to do with whatever axe you have to grind.
I stand by my words.
If you lived under a repressive totalitarian regime, would you defend the lives and safety of your family “in violation of the law”, or would you just suck it up because some judge said you must?
Consider carefully. My decision was made years ago.
There's a lot of things I might do differently in some alternate reality version of America.
Based on the real world where people have actually been in the position to have to decide how to live in a REAL totalitarian system (as opposed to one defined as not letting people buy bump stocks), the vast majority decide they'll be able to help their families better by complying with the laws they're living under, no matter how unfair they may feel they are.
There will always be some exceptions, and under a true totalitarian state, those people will just be summarily shot.
As for me, I'm not one to take a stand that they'll only take my bump stock from my cold dead fingers.
In the America we actually live in, I think I can best provide for the health and safety of my family by teaching them that it's best to leave the battles to the arena where the laws are passed that we will live under. I'll teach them that getting into a gunfight with an opponent with unlimited weapons to bear against them is insane, particularly if they are fighting just based on their disagreement with laws legitimately passed under our representative government under the US Constitution.
