What I’ve posted is plenty clear without your re-framing it. I would not stand by meekly if the county sheriff came to rape or murder my grandchildren. I’d shoot. What, in your smarmy opinion is different to that and removing my ability to prevent someone else from doing so?

We're a nation of laws. Under the law, we've given the power to law enforcement to arrest people at times. Somebody coming to rape or murder is never acting within the law. That is the difference.

You weren't saying you'd shoot someone attempting to rape or murder your grandchildren. You said you'd shoot somebody who was following a legal order to disarm you.
