The money belonged to the government of the Shah of Iran. It was sequestered by presidential executive order when the Shah was overthrown. Congress could have controlled it any time they wished, but did not. There’s nothing to investigate.

All true. Still, I question why pallets of cash ?

Officially, the Treasury says Iran is outside of the international monetary system - e-transfer not available.

Probably actually because Iranian mullahs and government employees don’t trust each other. Not to mention easy transfer of cash to terrorists, and for bribes to foreign politicians.
