Have you ever wondered why when you go into an airport all the TVs are showing CNN. There are lots of other news networks but CNN seems to have a monopoly. In a recent segment on his show, Tucker Carlson explained whats behind this.
Wow.
CNN *pays* to have the airports run their channel.
In Miami $150K a year!
Another example of media not concerned about a profit, but are concerned with pushing their agenda!
I would suggest that eight years ago....most passengers sitting there...would have been casually watching CNN (maybe 80-percent).
Today? I’d take a guess that more than fifty-percent have zero interest in CNN’s video feed at the airport, and likely to be using the free wi-fi to watch shows off their tab, laptop or smart-phone.
I always carry a Universal Remote when I travel. I leave it in my carry on bag so I dont forget it. Old Babes have lost the ability to tolerate BS.
Great idea. Would be great to have the ability to change the channel in a public venue and nobody have a clue.
FoxNews is what is on at the airport I go out of.
As do I when going to the gym. Great time driving the liberals crazy when PMSNBC/CNN suddenly switches to Fox.
I thought Payola was illegal?!?!
“Another example of media not concerned about a profit, but are concerned with pushing their agenda!”
Sure they are concerned about the profit. They can charge their advertisers much more because many more people are watching their channel.

Universal Remote — great idea.
They can charge their advertisers much more because many more people are watching their channel.
If that is the case, Fox should be able to outbid them easily for airport lounge space.
Now that just sounds like a fun way to fly! Almost sounds like a fun Saturday project.
The only way to get the masses to watch........... a perfect captive audience
streaming video on smart phones or tablets is making that pretty irrelevant.
I go through Dallas a lot and complained. They told me CNN pays for those telivisions.
I told them they’re insulting their customers.
I have an app on my smartphone called Peel Remote. Basically a universal remote that can be programmed to a given tv in about two seconds. While I don’t fly much anymore, I have used it to commandeer tvs in the waiting room at the hospital, and at several sports bars. Works great, and can be a source of entertainment as well. The security guard at the hospital was in charge of the remote for the tv, and he was a CNN watcher. I changed the channel to FOX and watched him react to seeing “the enemy” on “his” tv. We went back and forth a couple of times until I cracked up laughing. When he found out what was going on, he was laughing too!
Glad I have retired and do not fly anymore. Airports will do anything to make a buck including subjecting travelers to communist rhetoric
A local watering hole on my neighborhood has only three TVs and they’re always tuned to some international crap like soccer or other Euro sporting event and when I asked if they could put the Simpsons on at the TV I was closest to the bartender said “Absolutely not!”...WTF?
