Whipping a kid is not a “lower class” thing. That kind of thinking is one of many reasons we are in the pickle we are in. Nothing got my attention better than the sound of that military webbing belt whistling through Daddy’s belt loops. All of us turned out fine. I raised my son the same way and he is a fine man. I hardly consider flag rank military officers lower class.
Am I flag rank? I can assure you I am not lower class and that the kids that end up at Stanford and Harvard are not “whipped” but are raised in a reasonable fashion.
