Less than six weeks before Nikolas Cruz committed one of the deadliest school shootings in American history, someone who knew him called an FBI tip line to complain about him, the agency revealed Friday.

But no one followed up.

Anyone here think that anyone in the FBI will be held to account?

No?

I thought so.

What’s up with him in the picture with an air-soft gun?

Sounds like a complete failure of “protocols” all the way around. FBI, State, Local LE let this one slip through. The sheriff is calling for “gun control”, didn’t mention if the locals followed up on their many (per the news brief) incidents with this shooter. For the curious, check out Florida’s Baker Act (http://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/mental-health/baker-act. )

Sets the methodology for LE for cases like this.

I also think Wray ought to resign, but not for this.

Remember this, and the many other incidents in which FBI agents did not do their job, when someone tries to say it’s only the top officials in D. C. who are the problem in the FBI.

“On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him.”

I wonder if the caller had the foresight to record the call when he made it.

I am still hoping that Wray and Rosenstein are on Trump’s side in all that’s been going on since the election and today’s news supports my view, in my opinion.

First, Rosenstein announced the indictment of 13 Russians and specifically states that any involvement by the campaign was “unwitting.” While that doesn’t let the Trump campaign off the hook, since there could still be charges for other matters, Rosenstein didn’t have to include that remark in his statement, or in the indictment. For example, consider whether Schiff would have included it, or Comey, or Brennan?

Second, Wray comes out with this statement acknowledging a major screw-up on the FBI’s part. Did we see a similar statement from the Obama administration when Lois Lehrner’s IRS went rogue and was caught at it? We even saw her take the 5th in testimony to Congress without any acknowledgement of a need for an investigation.

If Wray and Rosenstein are on indeed on Trump’s side, it will be interesting to watch his reaction, i.e., his tweets, over the next few days.

In the meantime, everyone have a good time calling for both their heads....(Wray’s and Rosenstein’s)

Fine, but no one says what you assert. What they do say is that when they do criticize the management at the top, they are not criticizing the rank and file, most of whom do their jobs well.

As far as I’m concerned your statement is as disparaging of law enforcement as any made by Black Lives Matter. Both encourage people to hate law enforcement personnel. Fortunately yours probably won’t matter, but a lot of police officers died last year because of the way Black Lives Matter was covered by the media.

Many have said what I said. We should not sweep over all the local FBI agents and say they’re doing a good job, because that is not the truth. There are many examples of FBI agents not doing their job. I don’t know how many, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it numbers in the hundreds. Certainly dozens.

Your ad hominem attack on me is not well placed.

Mine was not an ad hominem attack. I questioned your judgement and the impact of your making such a judgement. If it felt like an ad hominem attack, perhaps my “attack” on your judgement was better placed than you think.
