I should have said “active.”

(and they deiinitely are active, or they would not have been used)

The parts of the virus are only "active" in the sense that they (the parts) can initiate an immune response in a recipient. They can't replicate themselves once inside the body (they can't infect a cell and force that cell to replicate the virus, like intact virus particles can). This is because (among other reasons) the "parts' used in the vaccine aren't a sum of the total virus. Only certain portions of the virus are used in the vaccine (not all the "parts" in other words). More specifically, the portions used in the vaccine don't contain the genetic material to build new viruses.

The purpose of vaccination is to create disease and havoc.

There's no other way to describe the above sentence other than to say "pure balderdash". If you really believe what you wrote above, then you need more tin foil.

Germ Theory of Disease

Of course Wikipedia isn't a final word on anything, but this is a good synopsis of the theory, one that has been the standard of medicine for the last century. Don't believe Wikipedia if you wish (don't blame you if not), but just pick up any basic Biology textbook and you'll find the same definition there. One will note, the theory encompasses infection by any organism, not just a bacterium.

If some nutter on the Internet says differently, that means nothing. It's on the Internet, so it must be true

Four types of vaccines are currently available:

Live virus vaccines use the weakened (attenuated) form of the virus. The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine and the varicella (chickenpox) vaccine are examples.

Killed (inactivated) vaccines are made from a protein or other small pieces taken from a virus or bacteria. The flu vaccine is an example

Imagine that.

“But for individuals it works by stimulating production of antibodies.”

That’s a given and the vaccine could save your life. But there’s no guarantee that any particular vaccinated individual will be safe- immune systems vary in effectiveness, and if you were infected prior to or shortly after being vaccinated you won’t have had time to build up sufficient antibodies.

Herd immunity protects you by lowering the chances that you will be exposed to the virus in the first place. Antivaxers free ride until the percentage of the herd vaccinated drops to the point where the virus easily spreads.

I'm not an "anti-vaxer" any more than I'm a global warming denier, and I can't be guilted into putting something into my body that I don't want there.

And each is cherry picking what it wants to highlight.

I didn’t single out anyone for being an antivaxer or make a moral judgment, it was nothing more than an observation. It’s simple fact that those who are innoculated generate herd immunity and that those who aren’t benefit from that same herd immunity. But once the percentage that does get innoculated falls low enough herd immunity stops working for everyone.
