He had ‘no record’ that would affect his purchase of a gun..and he lied about his mental health. Nothing anyone would have done would have stopped this shooter as he planned and executed these shootings for a very long time.

Had the authorities taken his violence and death threats seriously earlier on his butt would have been sitting in jail instead of smuggling bullets and guns into a stash in his school and then shooting up the place.

There are laws. He broke those laws... repeatedly. Those laws carry jail sentences. Presumably, people have been incarcerated under them. So why wasn’t he? Are they going to let him talk his way out of trouble again?

I am not blaming the person who sold the gun. The system failed that person as well as the community and all of those people who were shot.

....” The system failed that person as well as the community and all of those people who were shot”....

I disagree....’the shooter’ is entirely responsible for he chose to plan and execute his plan to take the life of students at that school..and this after repeated attempts to curtail his appetites and mindset otherwise of which he declined or denied.

I have sat with and cried with parents of kids such as this guy.. who tried for years to find someone who could do something to prevent what they knew would eventually happen....and did...prison didn’t stop him, help clinics and the lot do not and cannot stop these people. You jail them on the theft, assault, etc. etc. and once they’re out they’re at it again and again.

You cannot ‘fix’ those who do not want to be fixed...period.

We need to start by putting God back in our schools and society.

God in the family and the family back in the home.

But I fear it is too late, MissEdie. The forces of evil are everywhere. Those with faith will save themselves, if they are strong enough.

But society....look at it...hell on earth.

How about....you can't even TOUCH a firearm unless you are over 21 years old.

How about you can't even TOUCH a computer until you're 95?

Do you have any idea of how detached from ordinary life you are?

Families going out together to hunt, to spend time together, to bring home food, has been a tradition and a necessity in this country since before it was a country.

And your solution to a lunatic killing people is to bring in even more government to crack down on people who have done nothing, who ask nothing, who bury the dead after the schools, the police, and the full federal government have already done NOTHING?

He was also responsible for all the damage that he caused before this, yet he was not held responsible. That falls on the people who are paid good money to do the job of keeping society from descending into chaos.

Review my posts again. In summary: guns should only be owned, used, purchased, etc., by mature adults over 21. That's it.

Your irrational and explosive ranting might suggest to any thinking adult, that you probably shouldn't be allowed to own any weapons either.

Given the Constitution, nutless little tyrants like you shouldn't be allowed to live in this country.

Given the chance, I would drag you to the border and throw you over it.

As to my guns, and whether I "shouldn't be allowed to have them," I say: Come and get 'em, Scootie.

I’ll repeat it for you, because I don’t think you heard me....only mature adults over 21 years of age should be allowed to have guns.

You repeat it because you're able to, hiding behind your computer, scoochie-boy.

By the way, we are all aware of your nasty, sneaking, tremulous type---and we put up with you, because that is the law of the land, at least for us.

Conservatives have squared off with the likes of you forever, and have always won.

You---you couldn't have taken my squirtgun when I was ten. You certainly won't get it done now, Scoobie-doo.

Only MATURE adults should be allowed to own firearms.

There is a legal age for drinking, for smoking, for voting, for marriage, for driving, for contracts.....and the age for owning firearms should be 21.

(You're a piece of work. You really shouldn't have guns.)

By the way...I believe in the 2nd Amendment. I believe you should be allowed to carry, concealed or not, anywhere you want. Further, I believe we should be allowed to have any firearm and ammo that the govt has. BUT, only after you've reached your 21st birthday.

You really shouldn't have guns.

But no weakling diaper-wearing would-be tyrant like you would dare to come and get them, and that's what matters.

.....”He was also responsible for all the damage that he caused before this, yet he was not held responsible”.....

how you know that he wasn’t?......were you there when he was investigated by whatever authorities? Did you see what he was charged with if anything? were there people who asked charges be filed or did they choose not too?

If he indeed did all you say then where is the record of that and those who chose that charges be filed? It is He was also responsible for all the damage that he caused before this, yet he was not held responsible.y understanding he did not have a criminal ‘record’ of charges against him.

His butt wasn’t in jail when it should have been.

It is by virtue of the fact that he wasn’t that I state that the system has failed all involved.

I’ve never been much of a one for fig leaves FRiend

We can always blame the system.........daily criminals are let loose who should not be. Worse we fail to execute those who murder in the first place. Prison for many of the youth today is simply a rite of passage.

I can agree our system is broken and protects criminal behavior when it should not. But in this case the shooter, even if he had been jailed for a few months would have been out in short order and carried out his plan.

Reportedly he repeatedly committed at least one federal crime that carries a five-year sentence.

Likely a Juvenal's at the time authorities will always seek ‘other options’ to keep youth out of prisons. I can easily see why the shooter was not charged prior.
