Steve Scalise: No 'magic law' will stop mass shootings....
WAshington Examiner ^ | Feb. 16, 2018 | Katelyn Caralle

If you think there’s some magic, unicorn law that’s going to stop it from happening, just keep in mind that he violated probably dozens of laws already, including murdering people. That's against the law," Scalise, R-La., told Fox News host Laura Ingraham Thursday night.

“So, you know, this idea that one magic law is going to stop the next one from happening, it’s not,” Scalise said.

Crooked politicians who want to turn the US into Venezuela are the ones who want gun control, and won’t let a good mass murder go to waste.

If somebody could magically “uninvent” guns, he would have found another method.
Bombs, barracading the doors and lighting the school on fire, waiting til everyone was leaving and plowing them over with a car...etc...

He’d have killed just as many, if not more.

No guns - NOTHING would have changed.

We have a terrible state outside the walls when what’s inside the walls isn’t bad in comparison.

However all those who met Nick and didn’t care have also cast a vote for the kind of society they want to be in, too. It wasn’t just raging Nick.

No, I'm not kidding. The military should be over 21 as well. I'm tired of children dying for other countries.

Kids, on pharmaceuticals and raging hormones and internet brainwashing and peer pressure and stress of studies and illegal drugs/alcohol.....aren't old enough to be rational, aren't old enough to be trusted. Even voting and drinking should be 21.

Sorry, argue all you want.

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. Otherwise we fall prey to the persons who promise to “protect” us, when the actual objective is command and control.

So far as “gun control” goes, there is a path and means to uncover almost all miscreants who would try to misuse firearms and bring harm upon others through either carelessness or malevolent intent, and that is to expose ALL youth, regardless of any other trait or factor, to the handling, care, feeding and use of firearms at a relatively early age, preferable before or during their high school years. Much as drivers education is pretty much mandated for early acquisition of a driver’s license, training in the proper protocols and rules for handling weaponry capable of sending a projectile along an aimed path would serve to drive home the lesson that gunplay is no joke. Further training in the techniques of selecting suitable targets, aiming, properly discharging the weapon, and being able to account for the consequences, would have the objective of instilling a sense of responsibility in the novice.

Yes, we are dealing with a device that could potentially maim or kill. But the same may be said of tools used in shop class, or of motor vehicles, and millions manage to grow up anyway even in the presences of these hazardous pieces of equipment, so long as they obey the rules set down, rules that were painfully worked out in the past and have the practical aspect of actually being effective.

In the process of giving this training on as nearly universal a basis as practical, some few of the aspirants will prove to be unfit, for one reason or another, to have weaponry in their possession, as they may lack impulse control, or simply be a malevolent personality. This identification should be relatively simple to spot early on, and appropriate action taken to assure these inept or troubled persons are steered into a set of circumstances in which authorities could monitor their actions.

As a corollary to this training in firearms usage, another course in how NOT to become a victim of others in interpersonal relationships, sometimes referred to “bullying”, but with many other aspects of dominance/submission, often including a non-consensual sexual encounter or disproportional force in disputes. This may be an unusually difficult task, working with human beings of varying degrees of motivation and internal moral compass calibrations.

People might not be ready to live in the 21st Century just yet. Be a good idea to start preparing.

....”The police were at his house 39 times in 7 years and did nothing”......

I wouldn’t say the ‘law enforcement’ did nothing..... It certainly appears they did all possible within the laws governing what they could do... As also apparently the school and the authorities did as well. Up until the shooting he had broken no laws and no record of doing so.

As well..his mother certainly recognized and tried to get the guy help for several years.

I worked with a woman whose son was troubled from the age of ten....constantly in and out of jail and mental health clinics. Group homes etc...There’s actually groups of parents who meet because they’ve exhausted and fought the system for decades trying to ‘fix’ and get help for their kids. HE ended up shooting a taxi driver in the head for no reason at all....and went down after the police cornered him. HE fought back til the end.

So there’s more than just this shooter who the help given is denied eventually/completely and stuff as this will always happen ......it’s NOT that people haven’t tried....it’s you cannot institutionalize people that obviously need it against their will when they reach a certain age. You can thank the left for that, who closed institutions where many of these people belong.

Well first ..the shooter had been expelled last year so he wasn’t a student anymore. ....further I don’t think you could have stopped this shooter.....evidenced that he killed two on the way into the school....he wasn’t going to stop unless someone with a gun took him down. HE was there to kill kids at that school and that’s what he did.

Further....the guy set off the alarm thus creating his own targets like a shooting gallery.

Until people start to blame the shooter entirely for this event, who planned and executed his plan. And this regardless of any security or people who tried to prevent this.......it’s going to continue to happen.

Securing the schools is the ONLY option....and they never will be unless there are armed personal.

This shooter wasn’t about God being in the schools or not. He intended to kill kids of that particular school......and wasn’t about to be stopped by any from his intentions short of getting shot himself.

The less seen factor is overall spirituality.

I find myself in a tough position right now. A sensitive soul, I still cannot be letting my jaw hang gaping open for just anybody. The old saw is true — bad company corrupts good morals. Both company of people and angels/demons. He is gone but others might be warned to try to improve the spiritual temperature both without and within.

Get rid of evil, which the left sides with, and there would be no need for guns. However, until Jesus returns evil will be rampant and therefore the need for guns.

The shooter was a bad guy and that's all there is to it. Bad people are everywhere today and the best you can hope for is securing the school with armed officers or military....

People blaming the FBI, officer, school officials or the former parents are way off base......the shooter was set to kill kids at this school. Obvious the two unarmed people outside who tried to stop him didn't work..they're dead.
No stopping this killer short of another bullet.

When we speak of God being in schools we need to also speak of how. As a byproduct of general believed evangelism is the only valid how. And that could in some situations have mitigated the damage. Even in the case you spoke of, there was a single face-off with police, not a mass murder.

> How about....you can't even TOUCH a firearm unless you are over 21 years old

Even better, adding a new Constitutional Amendment which defines legal adulthood back to 21, thus preventing minors from:

This would also repeal the 26th amendment, and make everything consistent.

The minute an authority figure broaches the name of Big Pharma all hell will break loose in the swamp.

Bingo. The drug companies would pull their advertising from the MSM, so no so-clled "reporter" is actually going to look into the ever growing use of prescription psychotropic drugs.

Perimeter security was already in place via video but the two who were suppose to watch didn’t. However He was seen crossing the parking lot by an employee, identified and called in ‘before’ he set the alarm and began shooting. But of course he shot and killed them outside and went ahead.

If we don’t hold the cold who met Nick responsible for their coldness too, then we miss the point that God wanted these encounters to teach. A bad fate can be mitigated. Maybe Nick could have been humanely nudged along in life till he went to hell on his own accord.

Deaths from drunk drivers is what to compare with......are you going to take cars from drunks indefinitely? It's not cars that kill it's drivers. Guns don't kill either people do.
