Former President Obama seemingly shamed his successor in a TWEET Thursday calling for stricter gun control laws in light of the nation's latest school shooting. 'We are grieving with Parkland,' Obama began. 'But we are not powerless. Caring for our kids is our first job. And until we can honestly say that we're doing enough to keep them safe from harm, including long overdue, common-sense gun safety laws that most Americans wants, then we have to change,' Obama said.
The ex-president made his comments on the heels of President Trump making his own statement, in which he never uttered the word 'guns'. Trump, speaking to the American people from the Diplomatic Reception Room, labeled the killing of 17 students and teachers 'terrible violence, hatred and evil' while calling for a change in the 'culture.' We must also work together to create a culture in our country that embraces the dignity of life, that creates deep and meaningful human connections, and that turns classmates and colleagues into friends and neighbors,' President Trump said.

17? Really?
OK, just 8 shot every day in Chicago.
OK ‘0’ give me one common sense gun safety law.
Teaching children to be powerless in the face of horror such as this is central to the progressive agenda.
Exactly. In every case — everyone — the FBI was either tipped off or was aware the person was a potential threat.
If guns are gone, how can the tyrants be killed?
The tyrants are screaming for gun control
If “Caring for our kids is our first job” then do it by allowing teachers and others to carry and having armed guard presence.
Get rid of the ‘gun free zone’ signs and put up ones that say, ‘protected by armed personnel’.
Yet Obama was powerless to stop the mass killings by Muslim militants during his 8 years, including Fort Hood, San Bernardino, Orlando, and the Boston marathon.
Gee, jackass, you and the Dems passed no such laws when you were in full control 2009-2010, eh? Could it be that passing such laws is political suicide, and for good reason? And it's not the NRA, it's incurring the wrath of millions of patriots.
Maybe Trump isn’t powerless, but Obama sure was. He had the House/Senate and Presidency and didn’t fix this problem. So it is OBAMA’s fault and he should keep his mouth shut.
Just remember, that the Bill of Rights cant be touched.
I'm certainly no Constitutional scholar but I suspect that you're wrong there...at least from a "Constitutional" point of view.
Is there anything that can't be added to the Constitution in the form of an Amendment? My guess is that there isn't.Is there any part of the Constitution...including Amendments...that cannot be modified or removed through the Amendment process? My guess is that there isn't.
Now would any removal of,or modification of,the 2nd Amendment make it all the way through the Amendment process (including three-quarters of state legislatures)? My guess is that it wouldn't.But if I'm correct *there* we're talking about political realities rather than Constitutional law.
Obama who?
Anyone else find it amazingly creepy how the Left uses dead children to pimp a failed 1960s political agenda before they even find out the most basic fats about the event?
HOW about instead of being part of the problem O, you start looking at how Leftist lawyers, and the political class, have created a legal system where it is impossible to do anything about a clearly deranged lunatic until AFTER he shoots up a school?
I keep hearing this we need more gun laws and I respond please tell me what they would be ......I get crickets
We need to ban the liberals that keep doing these killings!
Under your opservation. The 2nd amendment was put in place to protect a free state, ie citizens. Take away the 2nd, and all the rest follow. Its there to protect each citizen from tyranny. Albeit, its totally voluntary.
Try to confiscate, you have chaos.
I'm not arguing in favor of repeal or modification.I'm only saying that my understanding of the Constitution suggests that repeal or modification could be "Constitutional" if done in the same way in which other Amendments have been added or repealed.
The argument you're making is a political/philosophical one...one with which I agree.
Just sayin'...
Agreed. 3/4 of the states will not ratify the repeal any of the Bill of Rights. Stay safe.
