Yes, and a left wing journalism professor who was a newscaster told me that back in the streaking days mainstream news came to an unwritten agreement to not cover streaking. It soon died out. He was replying to me saying exactly what you are saying but I was saying this in the ‘90s.

I’m 61, so I recall Streaking very well. I wondered why most all of it stopped so quickly. It was sort of harmless fun.
Nowadays they would call it PhotoBombing a bus event, while nude.
People under 40 may never have heard of that summertime foolishness.

Recall the Tylenol tampering (poisonings and copycats).

People (including women) who’d hold a McDonald’s hostage and shoot up the place.

Suicides largely are not reported in the press.

There was a whole genre of lone nut terrorist movies in the 1970s (recall Rollercoaster, which wasn’t just filmed and released but promoted and aired on one of the alphabet networks when most people only had 4-8 channels)... but the “trend” in society died off as media hype died off.

At baseball games sometimes a fan will do something for publicity like run out on the field--the media have a policy of not showing it. Sounds like the same thing was done with streaking.

At least streaking inspired one of Ray Stevens' more memorable songs.
