His family says he was so petrified of being deported that a minor traffic accident sent him to suicide.
We may never know for certain.
Now they are mourning his loss and getting out the message of what they say living in fear can do to a person.
His friends called him 'Trippy', his name was Luis Castenada, a 40-year-old father of two originally from Guatemala. The story is he came, one of eight kids, as an undocumented immigrant to this country as a young boy.
His story ended this past Friday night in the San Fernando Valley when he took his own life. His mother says it was because of one thing, the fear of being deported to a country he never really knew.
It's also possible he had other issues we just dont know about. I can tell you the pastor of a North Hills church with a large Latino congregation, who helped Luis's mother get her story out, says the fear created by the Trump administration in the immigrant community is very real and tangible , and felt by many. Rational or not. Justified or not. It's there.

... also have some compassion for illegal aliens.Or not.
I have the same compassion/respect for them as they do for me.
They don’t need “compassion”. They need their a**es kicked out and their assets seized to help defray costs involved. What’s with this compassion crap when it comes to criminal illegal alien invaders?
Breaks the law, kills self, expects us to feel guilty. Illegals need to go home, period.
Obummer supposedly deported more illegals
than Trump has thus far. Why didn’t this
poor, misguided, mentally anguished,
illegal alien invader take his own life
before now?
+1
Leftist response:
Awwww. If people want to stay here THAT badly, then sure, they can stay. Its all about their Feeeeelings.
My response:
Well, OK. Thats a start.
No sh!t, Sherlock!
What if the government provided a $100,000 payment in death benefits to every citizen who was killed by an illegal immigrant? The illegal immigrant must be identified and the cause of death must be demonstrated by a preponderance of the evidence. This would encourage people to come forward to collect the benefit and create a record of all deaths of citizens caused by illegal immigrants.
Sounds like he has 7 siblings here, too.
*****************************************
ICE should go to his funeral and get the other 7, his mother, father (if he has one) and any other illegal alien they find there and send them back where they belong.
That's what his mother says...
She is certainly lying. See next line...
It's also possible he had other issues we just dont know about.
The culture south of our border has lying as such a strong foundation of the cultures that it is impossible for them to separate lying from a transient blindness to reality and harmless. Age is not a barrier.
This criminal alien's life must have a collection of criminality such that his record prevented him from applying for normalization.
It's not like there is dearth of do-gooders willing to help the invading criminals to remain here.
RIP.
He failed in his goal.
He claimed to have come here for a better life, and miserably forgot, for 20 or 30 years. The opportunity was there all along, but it was too much bother.
Not anyone I would want as a neighbor, or as my children and grandchildren's neighbor.
The legislatures are free financially to sponsor all the criminals they wish with their own checkbooks, but they have absolutely no rights to American Citizen Dreamers' checkbooks.
Even ‘Trippy’ knows Guatemala is a s-hole.

The might be crass of me, but it’s “Trippy” KNEW Guatamala is a s-hole.
South of our border, EVERY country all the way to Patagonia is a shithole, depending on your definition.
For me any "democratic" country considered a "normal" second world nation whose heavily urbanized Capital is served 60% by failing septic systems, has no municipal trash collection or even street signs and addresses, is a shithole. e.g. Costa Rica
Yup.
Send him home for burial.
